Heritage touring brand to make major push on Aussie market.
Abercrombie & Kent Travel Group (AKTG) has unveiled a plan to return the heritage Cox & Kings brand to the Australian market after a six-year hiatus.
Under what it labelled “a carefully calibrated move”, AKTG confirmed it will take the escorted small-group tour brand beyond the United Kingdom to markets such as Australia and the United States as part of a global expansion push.
With Cox & Kings now integrated within A&K’s extensive destination management company network, the decision was made to soon introduce a portfolio of curated travel experiences to Australian travellers.
The expansion charge will be led by Jennifer Charlton, who has been appointed Managing Director of Cox & Kings, adding to her current remit of Senior Vice President Sales and Business Development UK and EMEA of A&K.
“I am eager to introduce Cox & Kings to new markets and showcase our unique approach to travel, which seamlessly blends its rich heritage for the culturally curious traveller,” the London-based Charlton enthused.
AKTG purchased Cox & Kings in 2019 after the tour brand’s former parent company ran into financial trouble.
