The Association’s advocacy has led Service and Creative Skills Australia (SaCSA) to undertake a national review of key travel qualifications.
The Australian Travel Industry Association (ATIA) has welcomed the announcement of a formal revamp of the Certificate III in Travel, after members raised concerns that the current qualification was outdated.
The review aims to update the certificate to reflect the skills and capabilities needed in today’s travel industry, with a focus on delivering graduates who are job-ready and reducing the time spent retraining new staff.
ATIA will continue to be directly involved in consultation processes throughout the review, working closely with SaCSA to ensure member feedback shapes the final outcome.
“This is about lifting the standard so new entrants are genuinely job-ready, backed by a framework that is modern and built for the future of the travel industry,” said ATIA CEO Dean Long.
