The business has confirmed its OTA boss will depart after over 18 years with Webjet.
Webjet OTA CEO David Galt will be stepping down from his role with the business, with his last day to be 31 Mar.
Galt has been with the company for almost 19 years, beginning in 2007 as a marketing manager.
In 2013 he stepped into the CEO role for Australia & New Zealand before his title changed to CEO of Webjet OTA in early 2016 to reflect the globalisation of the business.
Webjet confirmed the news to Travel Daily in a short statement.
“After nearly two decades with Webjet, David Galt has made the decision to step away from the business. He will be taking a meaningful break to focus on rest and time with his family this year.
“We thank him for his significant contribution to Webjet’s journey and evolution, and wish him the best for what comes next.
“For the Webjet OTA business, it remains business as usual with a highly capable and experienced team in place. The board and group CEO will now consider the appropriate leadership structure moving forward.”
Webjet recently spurned acquisition advances from Helloworld and BGH Capital.
