Qantas seeks expanded Japanese capacity.
The International Air Services Commission has just released details of an application from Qantas for expanded capacity to support Jetstar services between Australia and Japan.
“Qantas requests an allocation of capacity that would permit it to operate unlimited capacity between points in Australia and points in Japan other than Narita and Haneda Airport,” according to the application, which is requested for a period of ten years and would apply to Qantas or any wholly owned subsidiary.
The IASC is inviting other applications for the capacity, with a closing date of 20 Feb for notices of intention to apply.
The Commission has also received submissions from both South African Airways and Qantas in support of their request for an extension of their existing codeshare arrangements.
