The 2012 annual Tourism Malaysia Buyers Meets Sellers event took place in Kuala Lumpur last week, attracting 19 product managers from Australia and New Zealand and 80 sellers from across Malaysia.
The event, which was jointly organised with Malaysia Airlines, was held at Berjaya Times Square on 23 March and saw product managers from companies including The Travel Corporation, Flight Centre, Pinpoint Travel Group and STA Travel communicate with Malaysian service providers over a successful day of meetings and networking. On 24 March attendees were able to explore Kuala Lumpur and also take part in one-one-one meetings. Tourism Malaysia’s Buyers Meets Sellers event is now in its fourth year and provides a successful forum for Tourism Malaysia to showcase the diverse range of products and opportunities on offer for Australian and New Zealand travellers.
Shahrin Mokhtar, Director, Tourism Malaysia Sydney, believes the event was a huge success and reflects Tourism Malaysia’s ongoing commitment to educate the Australian and New Zealand market on the diverse breadth of travel options on offer across Malaysia.
“Australian and New Zealand travellers are continuing to travel to Malaysia in increasing volumes. This successful program brings together product specialists responsible for sourcing product for Peninsular and Borneo Malaysia with Malaysian service providers,” states Mokhtar.
“This environment allows us to educate Australian and New Zealand industry partners on the exciting products, destinations, and opportunities on offer for travellers.”
Following the event, Tourism Malaysia also hosted a post-event famil for participants, who have travelled to Langkawi or Penang to learn more about the travel products and opportunities on offer in Peninsular Malaysia. |
