The Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI) has erected its very own iconic Hollywood sign to signal the arrival of blockbuster exhibition Hollywood Costume, all the way from the Victoria & Albert Museum (V&A), London.
The annual Melbourne Winter Masterpieces exhibition series is a major highlight on Accor’s cultural calendar and this year the hotel group is celebrating the arrival of Hollywood Costume in Melbourne and its partnership with ACMI.
Development Manager for ACMI, Lorrae Nicholson (pictured front centre) gathered with members from Accor’s regional team to celebrate the long-standing partnership and the opening of the exhibition. Participating Accor hotel’s in Melbourne are offering discounted exhibition ticket and accommodation packages to Hollywood Costume until mid August.

Hollywood Costume presents over 100 costumes spanning nearly a century of filmmaking, including iconic and rarely seen costumes worn by celebrated actors from films including Breakfast at Tiffany’s (1961), The Wizard of Oz (1939), Titanic (1997). The latest high-tech suit for Batman in The Dark Knight Rises (Lindy Hemming, 2012) and designer Jacqueline Durran’s unforgettable green silk charmeuse gown worn by Keira Knightly in Atonement (2007) are also on display.

Melbourne’s Winter Masterpieces series also includes Monet’s Garden which opens from 10 May at the National Gallery of Victoria. Visitors will experience every facet of Monet’s picturesque garden at Giverny, northern France, including his iconic waterlily paintings. More than fifty artworks from Paris’ Musée Marmottan Monet, home to the largest collection of Monet’s works in the world will be on display until 8 September.
