NEW 2012 AFRICA BROCHURE HOT OFF THE PRESS
African Wildlife Safaris have released their new 2012 Africa brochure, showcasing their portfolio of high end game lodges, safari camps, hotels and exclusive beach resorts across East and Southern Africa. The 116 page brochure also includes tours, cruises and accommodation in Egypt and Dubai. The brochure front cover features a breathtaking image of an African black rhino running directly at the viewer, to highlight the plight of this magnificent creature which is being poached in record numbers.
African Wildlife Safaris are long-time specialists in personalized, tailor-made holidays to Africa, and in 2012 will celebrate 27 years of operation. “We believe we have the best product in the Australian market” says Managing Director Steve Cameron. “With so much experience behind us, plus the vast knowledge held by our senior staff, we can ensure that we offer unparalleled advice to both agents and clients.”
The new 2012 brochure features prominently some of African Wildlife Safaris’ long-term partners in Africa, allocating more space to such high quality product as Mala Mala, Sabi Sabi, Londolozi, and Wilderness Safaris. “These long established operators have some of the best real estate on the continent, says Steve Cameron. “ They were there first, and their private reserves and concessions have some of the highest concentrations of wildlife in Africa.”
Two new inclusions in the 2012 brochure are Ker & Downey Botswana and Nomad Tanzania, two safari operators with whom African Wildlife Safaris have been working for many years. “Both these operators are renowned for their intimate, classic safari camps and high service standards” says Steve Cameron, “and so both fit in perfectly with our company ethos. They are committed to eco-tourism and to providing authentic wildlife experiences for their clients.”
Ker & Downey Botswana have been well known for their quality photographic safaris for 40 years. Their five lodges and tented camps are situated in the Okavango Delta, Moremi Wildlife Reserve and the Linyanti area, and can easily be combined to create a diverse and rewarding safari itinerary. These camps can also be mix and matched with some of the many other small, exclusive camps featured in the AWS brochure.
Nomad Tanzania are pioneers of small eco-camps in remote wildlife areas, and have been operating for 20 years. They pride themselves that their camps are situated in some of the most coveted wilderness in East Africa, including the Serengeti, Selous, Ruaha and Katavi National Parks for big game safaris and the Mahale Mountains for Chimpanzee tracking. Their newest camp, Lamai Serengeti, is located in a prime site in the northern Serengeti close to the famous Mara River and a popular wildebeest crossing point. They also operate a mobile Serengeti Safari Camp which follows the wildebeest migration. Their Ndura Loliondo camp is a unique yurt camp adjacent to the Serengeti in an area of stunning scenery, wildlife and traditional tribal Maasai peoples.
African Wildlife Safaris are also featuring a new destination for 2012 – Ethiopia. “Most people know little about Ethiopia,” says Steve Cameron “and associate the country only with famine. However it has a fascinating history and Christian heritage dating back thousands of years, a rich culture and some of the most spectacular scenery in the world. The north of the country has a well-travelled tourist historical circuit, whilst the southern Omo Valley is home to many traditional nomadic tribes with unique dress, customs and body art. ” The 9 day/8 night “Historical Ethiopia” departs from Addis Ababa and visits ancient 6th century Axum, the rock hewn churches of Lalibela, the castles of imperial Gondar – the Camelot of Africa – and such spectacular scenery as the Simien Mountains, the Blue Nile Falls and Lake Tana, source of the Blue Nile. The tour sells for $3278 per person twin share including internal flights, transfers, accommodation, most meals, and sightseeing.
