Dragonfly Africa, South African Airways and DMS Destination Marketing Services played cupid this month by causing six Australian conference and incentive planners to fall in love with South Africa.
The group departed Perth enjoying the business class service of South African Airways into Johannesburg and on to the cosmopolitan city of Cape Town where they spent 3 nights. Whilst staying at The Table Bay Hotel, they indulged in a Masterchef experience. Although the pressure was on with only 30 minutes to cook their dinner, this proved to be an extremely enjoyable interactive experience. An important highlight of their visit was the surprise helicopter ride from the waterfront over Camps Bay and Cape Point.
A very emotional experience for all participants was their visit to the “Langa Moravian Educare”, where the participants were asked to “pack for purpose”, taking educational toys and playing with kids between 1 and 5 years old.
The trip continued with an opulent charter flight to Durban where they were transferred to Phinda Private Game Reserve to enjoy a luxurious Bush experience. At &Beyond Phinda Game Reserve, they certainly had luck on their side as they managed to spot Africa’s Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino) on one day! The Reserve encompasses of an impressive 23,000 hectares of protected wildlife habitat in KwaZulu-Natal, showcasing one of the continent’s finest game viewing experiences. Phinda is often described as “Seven Worlds of Wonder” and boasts seven distinct habitats – a magnificent tapestry of woodland, grassland, wetland and forest, interspersed with mountain ranges, river courses, marshes and pans. |
