APT’s CEO, Chris Hall was awarded the John Harvey Award as Outstanding Individual at Harvey World Travel conference’s awards dinner in Saigon recently, while the company APT won Cruise Operator of the Year.
APT was also a finalist in the other supplier award categories — Partner of the Year and Brochure of the Year — which were won by in-house brands.
A big hit was the appearance of APT Asia Ambassador, celebrity chef Luke Nguyen who attended the dinner at XU restaurant APT hosted on the Friday evening and hosted a cooking demonstration for all 500 delegates on the Sunday awards lunch.
A degustation dinner with matching wine at Xu restaurant is an itinerary highlight of APT’s 12-day Vietnam-Cambodia cruise-tour packages.
APT was represented at the conference and dinner by Paul Yankson (General Manager Sales Asia Pacific), Susan Haberle (National Sales Manager), Peter Balmer (Sales Manager Queensland) and Jill Lance (BDM Victoria).
APT General Manager Marketing, Debra Fox said Chris Hall’s award, while recognising his leadership and contribution to the industry, reflects the contribution he makes at APT.
“Chris has always worked hard to build and protect and value business industry partnerships,” she said.
“Everyone at APT – every team here in Australia and globally — has contributed in some way to our nomination as finalists, from pre booking, to booking, to pre tour, to on tour, to post tour, so it’s quite an outstanding achievement after only 21 months holding premium preferred status with HWT.”
