Luke Nguyen inspires APT’s Vietnam dining
APT has released a second edition of its Vietnam brochure which features two dinners designed by celebrity chef and APT’s Vietnam ambassador, Luke Nguyen.
Chef Nguyen had designed two enhancements for APT’s 12, 15, 16, 19, 20 and 23-day land/cruising packages – a Luke Nguyen’s Signature Banquet on APT’s Mekong River cruises between Saigon and Siem Reap on the RV AmaLotus and a ‘Red Lantern’ style degustation dinner with matching wine in Saigon at Xu restaurant.
Luke Nguyen is famous for his SBS cooking show “Luke Nguyen’s Vietnam”, his cook books and his world-renowned Sydney restaurant Red Lantern.
The river cruise dinner was created by Nguyen in consultation with RV AmaLotus chefs on a recent cruise.
“The onboard chefs and I perfected our exclusive menu to include a number of choices for each of three courses that reflected the diverse flavours of Vietnam,” he said.
In the brochure, he also recommends city restaurants for APT’s Dine Around Dinner concept, which provides dining choices covered by the tour price.
Nguyen this year is hosting a land component of two land/cruise departures, which have both sold out.
The Luke Nguyen Signature Banquet and the Xu restaurant meal will be served on the 12-day Angkor, Mekong and Ho Chi Minh City package, for example, priced from $4,295 per person, twin share, which includes a seven-night cruise, guided excursions on the cruise and at Siem Reap and Ho Chi Minh City, two nights at the award-winning Le Meridien Angkor, two nights at the Sheraton Saigon Hotel and Towers, 30 meals including local wine, beer and spirits with lunch and dinner on the cruise, onboard entertainment, APT Tour Director, port charges, transfers and tipping.
