Leading luxury travel network Virtuoso® has revealed images of some of its Australian members gathered at the recent annual Travel Mart at the Bellagio Hotel, Las Vegas on 14-19 August 2011.
The largest ever Travel Mart was attended by 3,641 of the world’s biggest names in luxury and corporate travel, including 51 of Australia and New Zealand’s leading travel advisors and agency owners. Over five days of networking and training sessions, 1674 travel advisors met with 1,591 suppliers who included all the top names in international hotels, resorts, cruise lines, airlines and destinations.
Two Australian agencies received Travel Mart accolades this year, announced at a glittering Awards Gala. Fay Cohen of Sydney’s Travel Phase was named Most Admired Advisor (Australia/ New Zealand) and Melbourne’s etm Travel received recognition for Top Virtuoso Production in Australia/ New Zealand. Winners were selected based on outstanding sales performance over a 12-month period and peer-to-peer assessment within the network.
On his return to Australia, Ian Pryer, Director of Sydney’s Goldman Travel commented: “Travel Mart is a great opportunity to meet, share information and negotiate with the world’s best suppliers, bespoke tour operators, cruise lines, hotel and resorts. Our corporate and leisure travel clients benefit immensely from the knowledge and special opportunities we gain from Virtuoso. It is the best.”
Queensland member Andi von Zeppelin, Director of Zeppelin Travel, who sits on the Virtuoso Member Advisory board added: “It is so simple. There is no other brand that can give travel advisors such an international event, with such a wonderful balance of professional training, research and trend analysis, while at the same time putting you in direct contact with all the top names in international hotels, resorts, cruise lines, airlines and destination suppliers. It all happens in one place, over five days, every year.”
