One of the target markets for Ayers Rock Resort is India and this week the NSW Premier is in India banging the drum for Indian tourism business, and that followed a World of Accor event in India last week, also banging the drum.
Meanwhile, here in Sydney, an Indian TV show that attracts an audience of 42 million has been filmed and that will hopefully build further interest in coming to Australia. Not surprisingly, the film crew chose to stay at Mercure Sydney, the first Australian hotel to adopt Indian Optimum Service Standards. The TV show is called Bade Acche Lagte Hain (I Love Him A Lot), which is currently one of the top-rating series on Indian television & watched by more than 42 million households. They have been filming at many iconic locations in & around Sydney, which will be featured in eight episodes between November & December 2011. The main actors Ram Kapoor & Sakshi Tanwar were photographed with Greg Brady, General Manager – Mercure Sydney on departure & stated what a wonderful place Sydney was & vowing to return to Australia for holidays in the future. |
