Eight personal travel managers from across Australia have discovered that it pays to be a home-based consultant, with TravelManagers hosting an exclusive VIP famil trip to Club Med Cherating Beach in November.
TravelManagers’ personal travel managers have enjoyed in excess of 130 famil trips in 2012 with this being the seventh trip exclusive to TravelManagers for the year. The five-night famil to Club Med Cherating Beach in November took in a shopping spree in Kuala Lumpur before and after flying to Kuantan and the Club Med resort, with inspections and accommodation in both the Parkroyal Hotel and Parkroyal Suites. Naomi Peel, in Operations at the National Partnership Office for TravelManagers in Sydney, says the VIP famil to Club Med is about TravelManagers getting the best destination and product training to their people. “In amongst having a ball ourselves, we inspected everything at the resort and were updated on all the information our clients would want to know. This sort of a holiday is high revenue, quality product and that segment is very important to TravelManagers’ client mix. That’s why Club Med Cherating Beach was chosen to be our seventeenth exclusive famil destination for our personal travel managers. We’ve been operating these exclusives for three years now and averaging more than five exclusive famils a year, which I would say is very good training for our personal travel managers!” The personal travel managers were able to enjoy the ample pool and bar facilities on arrival. During their stay the group visited the turtle sanctuary and Tree Top Challenge and tried their hands at Club Med’s legendary array of sports and fitness activities including circus skills, archery, yoga, rock climbing, sailing and kayaking. The end of each day could be spent in the new adults-only Zen Pool or relaxing at the cinema after sampling one of the resort’s restaurants. “The Club Med experience is a winning holiday every time,” says Katy Hurd TravelManagers’ representative of Mount Eliza in Victoria. “But Cherating Beach is special. There was a night time excursion to a river nearby that was my absolute highlight.” Yvette Kelly representative of Waikerie, South Australia, agrees. “We were floated down the river in complete darkness. We thought the trees of the riverbanks were covered in fairy lights until we were close enough to see they were fireflies blinking in time with one another! A million fireflies flew around us and actually landed on us.
