A GROUP of travel executives enjoyed the royal treatment aboard the most luxurious train in the world, the Maharajas’ Express, courtesy of Cox & Kings.
The group followed the 7-day “Royal India” itinerary from Delhi to Mumbai, which included the Taj Mahal, Jaipur’s Yellow Fort, evening elephant polo, tiger spotting at Ranthambore National Park, the markets of Jodhpur and palaces galore.
The team was greeted with red carpet, bands, dancers and traditionally dressed women throwing rose petals everywhere they went. They were also spoilt on board with butlers and an extensive menu of Indian and western food which they ate off 24 carat gold plates.
The Maharajas’ Express train journeys through India began in March 2010. Cox & Kings is a partner in the venture.
The group – Maria Slater, managing director of Maria Slater Travel Canberra; Andrew Jones, managing director of Andrew Jones Travel Hobart, Kyle Duffield of Cox & Kings; Mark Brown, managing director of Harvey World Travel Launceston and Hobart; and Elizabeth Hadwell, product manager of Flight Centre Head Office, get ready to board the Maharajas’ Express. |
