Go Pink for a Cure Ultimate Foam Party Themed in Pink Just Like Cotton Candy. Search Rocks Out at Hard Rock Cafe Penang. 8 October 2011 marked another great milestone for Hard Rock Hotel Penang in its brand commitment towards philanthropy. This time round, the hotel was enhanced completely in a pink vibe! In conjunction with Pinktober®, the hotel’s weekly Ultimate Foam party was brightened up in pink with a “Cotton Candy Tub” theme. To add on to the atmosphere, party goers attended the event in pyjamas as a support for this cause. Pinktober® is a Hard Rock worldwide month long campaign in support of the breast cancer awareness and research. This campaign embarks on its 12th consecutive year of raising awareness and funds for breast cancer charities around the globe with various initiatives to the support, getting stronger each year. The “Cotton Candy Tub” foam party started at 7.30pm with deejays spinning and a foam volleyball game. The party was electrified with the appearance of famous local celebrities including Chelsia Ng, Ash Nair, Yuri Wong, Search, Xandria Ooi, Jojo Struys, Joyce Wong and Dennis Lau. At the foam party, Chelsia Ng, Ash Nair and Yuri Wong performed a special showcase to hype up the event and all celebrities pledged their full support for this cause with a “Celebs Bed-in” session on the pink bed. “On our third year of activating Pinktober® at Hard Rock Hotel Penang, we are happy to note the continued support that we receive year after year. With joint forces and support from our local celebrities for this cause, we are able to generate interest and spread the awareness together. We strongly urge everyone to join us on our month-long initiatives,” says John Primmer, General Manager of Hard Rock Hotel Penang.At the Hard Rock Cafe Penang on the same night, Malaysia top rock band, Search blew away its fans with a live performance to support Hard Rock Hotel’s Penang Pinktober® initiatives. All proceeds from both the events benefit the National Cancer Society of Malaysia (Penang Branch) to support breast cancer awareness and research programme.
