Over the weekend, 30 Instagramers from around Australia and American converged on Hamilton Island for the Ultimate InstaMeet (Instagram meet up). The group explored the Island, including visiting nearby Whitehaven Beach, climbing Passage Peak to view the sunrise, cuddled koala’s, enjoyed sunset cocktails on One Tree Hill, all the Instagram and share their experiences with their social media friends, fans and followers. Combined, the group reached well over 775,000 Instagramers through their personal networks alone, with dozens of their photos receiving so many ‘likes’ that they were also featured on the ‘Popular’ page of Instagram over the weekend.
Amongst the group was Australian fashion model Annabella Barber (@annabellabarber), designer Camilla Freeman (@camillafreemantopper & @camillaandmarc), global style arbiter and Vogue Senior Fashion Editor Christine Centenera (@centenera & @vogueaustralia), fashion designer Josh Goot (@josh_goot), Masterchef contestant, writer & foodie Hayden Quinn (@hayden_quinn), stylist & luxury fashion blogger Romy Frydman (@stylemeromy), The Voice contestant & singer Sarah De Bono (@sarahdebono) and Geelong Cats’ Jimmy Bartel (@jrb03).
Two hand-picked Australian Instagramers, Lauren Bath (@laurenepbath_ih) from the Gold Coast and Pauly Vella (@paulyvella) from Sydney’s North West also attended, plus five lucky competition winners including Hay’s Julie Hill (@tilly_jak), Sydney’s Nicolas Alexander (@nicolasalexander), the Gold Coast’s Garry Norris (@13juju) and Jewels Lynch (@_oneperfectday_), and American competition winner, L.A.’s Chris Vallejos (@chrisvallejos).
The Hamilton Island Instagramers joined the Pilgramers (@Pilgramers), who were the inspiration behind the campaign. The Pilgramers (Instagramers on a pilgrimage) spent their summer travelling from city to city across America, exploring and invoking community through Instagram. |
