Helen Wong’s Tours has been around for 26 years, but that doesn’t stop the managing director and founder Helen Wong from rolling up the sleeves for some good old fashioned hands-on work.
Last weekend she was sighted fronting her company’s stall at Travel Expo, in Sydney’s Darling Harbour, offering advice and spreading the good word on guided tours to the People’s Republic. One person to be surprised by her cameo appearance was a star struck Escape Travel Castle Hill international consultant Michelle Suwidji who was quick to be photographed with her idol. Apart from promoting China during Travel Expo, Helen assisted her team in explaining something more technical – how to utilise the series of quick response (QR) codes on both the 2013-14 China and Vietnam brochures. These codes allow Smart Phone owners to scan and watch “virtual tour” video coverage of major areas featured in the programs. “Times have changed since those early days of single-page flyers,” said Helen. |
