HELEN WONG’S TOURS’ CONTESTS WEREN’T ALL THAT TRIVIAL
August 7, 2013
Canberra winners: First prize for a mixed bag of agents from Travelscene, Flight Centres and independent Jamison Travel in Canberra.
After two successful years of hosting travel trivia nights for Sydney agents, the team from China and Vietnam wholesaler Helen Wong’s Tours clocked up some invaluable mileage – and a few frequent flyer points – by staging similar fun-filled challenges in Canberra, Melbourne and Perth.
The special evenings, supported by the Macau Government Tourist Office, attracted large crowds of enthusiasts with the “Saigon” table taking out the Canberra challenge at a contest which attracted 50 consultants.
One night later, the “Siem Reap” table took out the Melbourne event while, in Perth, the “Hangzhou” table took home the Western Australian Helen Wong’s Tours crown.
“The response to these nights was overwhelming – in all three cities,” said Helen Wong’s Tours marketing manager Kevin Du.
“The noise was almost deafening, especially in Melbourne where we had almost 100 consultants fighting it out for supremacy.
“All contests were keenly fought out all the way. Judging by the high scores, they certainly knew a great deal about China and Vietnam as well as our brochure products,” he said.
Melbourne winners: First prize for members of a number of Flights Centres and Escape Travel agencies who teamed up in the Melbourne event.
