Travelworld Hunter Travel Group were proud to support the “Chicks with Sticks” Charity Golf Day on Friday 18th May at Merewether Golf Course. The day helped raise over $6,000 for the Hunter Breast Cancer Foundation and Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service!
The day started with a bubbling champagne breakfast, which gave the Travelworld – Hunter Travel Group team “Funbags” the confidence (if not the skill) of Tiger Woods! After taking about 15 minutes to work out how to reverse the golf cart, Team Funbags popped on their pink Travelworld caps, rolled up their sleeves, chose any random golf club they could find and started swinging….into the turf that is! After about 50 digs into the formerly sleek green turf success! The team had hit the ball….. Approximately 1 metre and the game was on! Whilst it is safe to say none of team “Funbags” is going on the Golf Pro Circuit anytime soon it was a great day out and all for a worthy cause! Travelworld – Hunter Travel Group were proud to be a part of this event, helping increase awareness of two very important charities in the Newcastle region who provide a vital service to thousands of people. |
