Intrepid Travel’s My Adventure Store in Wellington recently had a visit from Hollywood with the upcoming film ‘Life of Pi’s’ screenwriter, David Magee in town. Intrepid Travel was lucky to snap up the successful screenwriter for an exclusive event, whilst he was in town to promote the much anticipated movie release of Life of Pi. The movie, Life of Pi, is filmmaker Ang Lee’s adaptation of Canadian author Yann Martel’s bestselling 2001 novel about a young boy trapped in the middle of the ocean on a raft with wild animals.
The very engaging David Magee spoke to the intimate group of Intrepid customers about his travels around India’s Pondicherry where he was filming Life of Pi and signalled his passion for small group adventure. There were lots of giveaways on the night including a signed copy of ‘the making of life of Pi’ book, copies of the novel and double movie passes to see the film. Intrepid Travel visits Pondicherry as part of its 15-day Classic South India Comfort adventure.
