New Horizons Holidays launch 2012 Malaysia program
22 February, 2012: Named Innovative Foreign Tour Operator for Oceania by Tourism Malaysia at the end of 2011, New Horizons Holidays has released its new 2012 Malaysia program boasting a comprehensive range of new product which has been carefully designed to anticipate growing demand as the region continues to gain momentum and grow in popularity with West Australian travellers.
Chris Evans, managing director, New Horizons Holidays said, “Australians love Malaysia due to its close proximity, food, people, shopping in Kuala Lumpur, the beaches of Penang and Langkawi and the adventure and wildlife of Borneo.
“Kota Kinabalu, in particular, has become an important destination for West Australian travellers, emerging as a new hot-spot, and in response we have brought in many more resort and touring options including the luxurious and exotic Gaya Island Resort, which opens in April of this year and the beautiful Gayana Eco Resort.
“Other great new properties featured in the program for 2012 include the expansive Berjaya Times Square Kuala Lumpur, the peaceful five-star Golden Palm Tree Resort located on the picturesque Sepang coast, the boutique Lone Pine Hotel in Penang and the impressive Sheraton Langkawi Beach Resort.
“We expect to see Penang and Langkawi continue to see growth in 2012 as will Kuala Lumpur, with more travellers using this diverse and bustling hub as an alternative to some of the more traditional stopover regions.
“With something for everyone agents should suggest their clients mix their trip up a little, seeing and experiencing the very different destinations in Malaysia, for example combining a shopping city stay in Kuala Lumpur with a beach holiday in Penang or Langkawi, or adding a wildlife experience onto a city stay with time in Borneo to see turtles, orang-utans and so much more.
“For travellers looking to get off the beaten track, we’ve also introduced more regional options in 2012, like the colonial Cameron Highlands Resort, a grand hilltop station set amid tea plantations, strawberry farms and lush jungle. Regional properties such as this offer yet another way to diversify travellers’ experiences in Malaysia.”
