Wednesday 07 August 2013 – The Canberra Retirement and Lifestyle Expo proved a success in more ways than one for TravelManagers’ personal travel managers Alister Pardew, Jenny Dwyer, Leisa Burdette and Pauliina Kelly.
The four Canberra based personal travel managers, known as ‘Team Canberra’, together with a select group of suppliers, collectively worked on one of three travel stands at the expo.
“With a three day expo and over 8,100 people through the doors, it was fantastic to have the support and expertise of Scenic Tours, Trafalgar Tours and Helen Wong’s Tours. We were able to spend quality time talking with clients providing first hand expertise and an extensive range of product particularly for UK/Europe, coach touring, cruising and Asia,” says Burdette.
The level of client enquiry was strong ensuring each personal travel manager received 40 new client referrals and subsequent bookings, as a direct result of attending the expo.
“Clients just love the personal travel manager concept with the flexibility to visit wherever is most convenient for them. We have all grown our client base and achieved subsequent bookings ranging from a week on the Gold Coast to a four week European holiday including everything in-between. 2014 is shaping up to be a great year.
“The most memorable moment during the expo was an unexpected hug from a now new client. She was so excited by the thought of doing a Scenic Tour in 2014 and thankful for my first hand experience and advice, she just launched herself and gave me a huge bear hug. It was most unexpected, but delightful. It’s moments like these that really make your day,” says Burdette.
Collective attendance at the expo allows the personal travel managers a chance to network, support each other and work together to collectively grow their individual businesses.
“We applaud the way Team Canberra work so well together. Their relationship epitomizes TravelManagers’ philosophy of personal travel managers working collectively together to provide the ultimate travel experience for our customers and we wholeheartedly support that,” says TravelManagers’ General Manager Michael Gazal.
Team Canberra will again be making an appearance at next years’ expo.
“After attending for five years we don’t intend stopping now, you don’t give up on a winning formula,” says Burdette. |
