Australian cricketing legend Ritchie Benaud and nine members of the 1961 team were reunited at a special charity event onboard P&O Cruises UK’s Oriana in Sydney yesterday.
The team were the last Australian cricket team to sail on a P&O Cruises vessel to the UK for a Test Series, following the take-off of mass air travel.
Yesterday the group shared memories, enjoyed a lunch and tried out Oriana’s cricket nets on the top deck.

Oriana, the first superliner to grace Sydney and Australia on a world cruise this season, is donning a giant moustache as a symbol of the cruise line’s support for Movember.
Movember is an official charity partner of Cricket Australia, and its Ambassador, Max ‘Tangles’ Walker (famous for his own mo), was in attendance at the event, along with former Test Captain Mark Taylor, seeking to raise funds and awareness for men’s health.
