Scenic Tours have taken their agents and media on board the Scenic Tsar for a 12 day all-inclusive luxury river cruise on the magical waterways of Russia. The Scenic Tsar is the first ‘new build’ ship to be registered in Russia for 25 years. According to The Russian Maritime Authority, ‘new build’ means one that is at least 80 per cent new.
The cruise sailed from St Petersburg to Moscow from 7-18 October 2012, where agents and media enjoyed the sights and sounds from their private balcony suite. They experienced a private Russian ballet performance, met a cosmonaut at the Memorial Museum of Cosmonautics and enjoyed a traditional highlight lunch at the old-world wooden ‘Podvorie’. They discovered Moscow’s Red Square, St Basil’s Cathedral, and the Kremlin Armoury. They also experienced a traditional Shashlik lunch at the enchanting village of Mandrogi, and explored the highlights of St Petersburg including Peterhof, Hermitage and Catherine’s Palace.
The feedback from the trip was extremely positive with guests stating it to be a very culturally enriching experience, with the visit to Mandrogi being a well-received highlight, as well as the cosmonaut museum. Featured in the image attached is the group at The Kremlin in Moscow.
