Three senior Australian travel consultants and their partners from Travelworld Orange and MTA Travel this month embarked on a journey to discover new highlights of Guilin and Shanghai on a China Familiarisation Tour organised by Selective Tours.
The trip, which ended last week, was a seven day tour to Guilin, Yangshou, Shanghai, and the ancient canal city of Suzhou. The tour featured a walk through the ancient rice terraces in Longsheng, a spectacular Li River Cruise, visits to traditional country town of Yangshou and the beautiful “Palace of Natural Art” Reed Flute Cave in Guilin, a Chinese Garden visit in Suzhou, and a mixture of activities highlighting the old and the new in Shanghai.
Maxine Adams at MTA Travel said her favourite parts of the trip were exploring Guilin, the Li River Cruise, the rice terrace walk, and visiting the historic Yu Garden in Shanghai.
“It was simply a fantastic trip,” Maxine said. “Without exception, every booking, arrangement and inclusion happened seamlessly and exceeded our expectations on many occasions.”
“While John and I had been to China before, we were blown away by the whole experience, with many, many highlights.”
Selective Tours will be organising another Familiarisation Tours for travel agents in early 2014, this time to India. Agents are welcome to register their interest by calling 1300 760 208. |
