Staff at Peppers Beach Club in Port Douglas donned their trendy viewing glasses in the early hours of November 14 along with thousands of other locals and tourists to witness the Solar Eclipse.
“It truly was an awesome spectacle – one which may be a once-in-a-lifetime event for many of us,” said Manager, Adam Taloni.
“This is traditionally getting into a quieter time of year in Tropical North Queensland (TNQ) so the region really benefited from this event and it was great to see the town buzzing.”
The Solar Eclipse event attracted thousands of domestic and international guests and provided the region with a global profile. Mantra Group’s 11 Peppers and Mantra resorts across Cairns, Palm Cove and Port Douglas reported a significant 107% uplift in revenue YOY, selling 3,362 room nights over the five-day Solar Eclipse event period.
From every pair of Solar Eclipse viewing glasses sold at Peppers and Mantra properties in TNQ, $1 was donated to the Australian Red Cross, Mantra Group’s charity partner.
