According to the latest research by the UK group GMB, the experts in the world of work, Travel Agents, Flight Engineers and Pilots have had one of the lowest drops in living stands across all occupations since the Global Financial Crisis.
Travel Counsellors own figures also prove that life is good as a Travel Agent, especially as a Home Based agent, as they have bucked the trend. Instead of a downturn, their agents have experienced an increase in income and living standards, not only across the UK but throughout their global network. Proof that their Australian arm is going from strength to strength comes on the back of recent “Gold” celebrations which saw 2 more agents achieve this accolade in the last qualifying period and 4 more re-qualify and keep their Gold Status.
“We have so many more TC’s in Australia that are very close to achieving ‘Gold’ that we hope to continue the celebrations in the next qualifying period which ends 30 April 2012. Australia is really souring with some outstanding individual sales performances, as are fellow colleagues in South Africa and the Netherlands in particular” comments Tracy Parkinson, Business Development Manager for Australia.
Recent “Gold” TC celebrations included attending Traveleague Luncheon in Melbourne, followed by champagne and canapés onboard the “Aussie Princess” luxury charter boat, before retiring to premium accommodation at the Langham Hotel, before a relaxed farewell lunch at the famous Mr Wolf restaurant in St Kilda.
