Australia’s leading Asia travel specialist, Travel Indochina, has released a comprehensive
28 page e-brochure guide to Japan for independent travellers who seek memorable experiences of the real Japan.
Entitled “Handmade Holidays Japan”, the 2011-2012 e-brochure encapsulates must-see highlights within this country of contrasts and features itineraries incorporating many of the country’s most popular destinations, including Hakone, Nara, Hiroshima and Kyoto.
The launch of the brochure follows the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade’s recent lowering of the Travel Advice for Japan to Level 1 (‘be alert to own security’).
Travel Indochina Managing Director, Paul Hole, says the lowering of the security advice reflects the tremendous restoration progress that’s been made recently.
“Our decision to launch the brochure at this time was in recognition of the country’s ability to once again welcome tourists to many of its main attractions, without unnecessarily drawing upon resources required elsewhere,” says Paul.
“We’re confident that this is the right time to return, and are doing so with our ‘Handmade Holidays’ range of bespoke arrangements of travel essentials. ‘Handmade Holidays’ encompass the best of every destination, handpicked to allow travellers to craft a holiday that suits their interests and budgets.
“We all know handcrafted watches are of superior quality, tailor made clothing fits better… Handmade Holidays are of the same calibre and distinction.”
In a country famous for its cuisine and gracious and hospitable locals, the Handmade Holidays itineraries focus on exploring the “real Japan” – discovering the hidden gems on walking tours and immersing travellers in the culture.
Indicative of the quality of the itineraries, a 10 day/9 night “World Heritage Adventure” takes travellers from Tokyo through to Takayama (nicknamed “Little Kyoto”) by Shinkansen (bullet train) before heading to the real Kyoto, followed by a shukubo (temple stay) before finishing the journey in Osaka. Starting from $1,709* per person twin share, the price includes 9 nights’ accommodation, return airport transfers and touring as specified.
