World Expeditions launches Australia, New Zealand and The Pacific 2012
Leading adventure travel company World Expeditions is thrilled to announce the launch of its first amalgamated brochure for Australia, New Zealand and The Pacific. The brochure is a definitive collection of classic trekking, cycling and adventure holidays throughout the region and will enjoy a wide travel agent distribution.
World Expeditions’ expert ground operations in Australia commenced with the first commercial decent of Tasmania’s Franklin River in 1978 and since that time has created and led a comprehensive range of adventure holidays throughout Australia, earning a reputation for innovation and responsible travel. This new brochure brings together this pioneering collection of active tours across Australia together with New Zealand and the Pacific to cater for every client who wants a world class trekking, cycling or active adventure holiday in the region.
“This is the widest range of adventures in the region ever put to the Australian market”, said Chris Buykx, World Expeditions General Manager Australia. “The classics such as the Larapinta, Kokoda, Bibbulmun, Heysen and the Overland Track are represented as well as some of the lesser known but amazing adventures such as the Jatbula Trail and Bungle Bungles Piccaninny Gorge Trek. But it’s the new trips such as the opportunity to cycle the Victorian Rail Trail, lodge trek the Great Ocean Road route, enjoy a gourmet walking experience on Maria Island or the Bay of Fires, horse riding in the Victorian Alps or a bushwalking adventure following the Aboriginal ‘Dreamtime’ trail out of Katherine that are earning the ear of our passionate Aussie travellers”, said Chris.
‘The addition of our New Zealand trekking, cycling & adventure holidays sit perfectly alongside our Australian adventures. We’re pretty excited about the new voyages to the Forgotten Islands of New Zealand as well as our new cycling trip to Milford Sound, walk along the Hump Ridge Track and our showshoeing trek in the Alps next winter,’ continues Buykx.
Highlights include:
Classic Larapinta trek, a six day odyssey through the beautiful West MacDonnell Ranges with a highlight ascent of Mt Sonder. New permanent campsites with comfortable dining shelters now provide sustainable and comfortable trekking for just $1995.
Overland Track – there are now two options to explore this iconic walk through the Tasmanian wilderness. Clients can choose to stay in an ecologically sustainable private hut or to camp during the classic bushwalk. The longer 7 day camping itinerary allows for more flexibility and side trips to summits such as Mt Oakleigh and Mt Ossa. From $2095.
The 5-day Otago Rail Trail is New Zealand’s most iconic cycling trail passing through old gold mining towns and inaccessible regions of the Central Otago highlands. $1035.
Agents will find the brochure easy to use with a clearly marked contents page setting out the tours to Australia, the Pacific, Tasmania and New Zealand.
