confirmed yesterday afternoon
that one of its three Christchurch
based hotels, damaged in the Feb
earthquake, will be torn down
and not rebuilt”
The Crowne Plaza Christchurch
suffered significant damage in the
quake and engineers informed
the building owner, Eureka Funds
Management, that demolition
was the best assessment, mainly
due to increased construction
costs “because of new building
codes in the city”.
