Emirates has just announced that it will operate daily A380 flights from Dubai to Melbourne from Oct 2012.
The move will see the Melbourne Emirates superjumbo flights extend onto Auckland, allowing Victorian travellers to experience the aircraft on short-haul flights across the Tasman.
It will also facilitate a seamless A380 experience all the way from Auckland/Melbourne to Dubai and onwards to London Heathrow as well as other EK A380 destinations including Manchester, Paris and Rome.
Melbourne will be Emirates’ second A380 destination, after the 2009 introduction of the superjumbo on the Dubai-Sydney-Auckland route.
The A380 Melbourne flights will operate on the existing EK406/407 services, complementing Emirates’ other daily flights to Melbourne – EK408/409 via Kuala Lumpur and EK404/405 via Singapore.
