More than 3,200 votes cast to select finalists for industry night of nights.
The Australian Federation of Travel Agents has just revealed the hotly anticipated list of finalists in the 2017 National Travel Industry Awards.
After a three week voting period by the industry which saw over 3,200 votes cast, the highest ranked nominees among the 38 award categories have been chosen and the Awards now move onto the next phase for judged categories.
Flight Centre, Helloworld Travel and Travellers Choice are the finalists in the Best Travel Agency Group (50 outlets or more) category, while ATAC, Independent Travel Group, Helloworld Business Travel, Magellan and My Travel Group are finalists in the Best Non Branded Travel Agency Group.
Luxury Escapes, TripADeal, Global Journeys, Fly365.com and Cruise Guru are the finalists in the Best Online Travel Agency category and the finalists in the Emirates Travel Consultant Scholarship include James Berechree of Intrepid, Lauren Purcell from Phil Hoffmann Travel, Stephanie Threlfall of italkktravel Belmont, Travel by Design’s Stefania Lasek and Toby Bradshaw from Flight Centre Manuka.
In some of the key supplier categories, the Best International Airline – Online finalists include Air NZ, Emirates, Etihad, Qantas and Singapore Airlines. The Best International Airline – Offline finalists are Air Serbia, Finnair, Lufthansa and Swiss International Air Lines. The Cruise Operator – Domestic Deployment category finalists include Carnival Cruise Line, Celebrity Cruises, P&O Cruises Australia, Princess and Royal Caribbean, while the Best Tour Operator – International finalists include APT, Insight Vacations, Scenic, Topdeck and Trafalgar.
The Best Wholesaler – International Product finalists include Excite Holidays, Infinity Holidays, Intrepid, Qantas Holidays/Viva! Holidays and TravelCube, while Dubai Tourism, the Singapore Tourism Board, Tourism Fiji, Tourism NZ and Visit California will battle it out for the Best Tourist Office – International category.
