The Australian Travel Industry Association (ATIA) has announced the finalists for the most outstanding judged categories.
In what the association has deemed as one the closest-run competitions in recent memory, a panel of independent assessors have evaluated each nominee’s video or
written submission to establish the top five scoring nominees in each category.
In seven categories, a top six has been declared due to a tie in scores, and an additional round of judging had to take place for the hotly contested categories – Most Outstanding Sales Executive for Air, Cruise, Tour Operator and Wholesaler.
Of the various categories, APT Luxury Travel, G Adventures, Intrepid Travel, Scenic Luxury Cruises & Tours and TTC Tour Brands will go head-to-head for the title of Most Outstanding Tour Operator – Global, while the Most Popular Airline – Online category will see Air New Zealand, Qantas, Virgin Australia, Singapore Airlines and Qatar Airways battle it out.
Additionally, National Geographic Lindblad Expeditions, Norwegian Cruise Line, Princess Cruises, Royal Caribbean, and Viking will vie for the Most Popular Ocean Cruise Operator award.
“This year’s judged categories have been some of the most hotly contested we’ve ever seen at the NTIAs, with incredibly high-calibre submissions across the board,” said CEO Dean Long.
