Hospitality giant buys Accor Vacation Club for nearly US$50m.
Travel Leisure Co, the entity formerly known as Wyndham Destinations, has swooped on a major competitor by acquiring the global vacation ownership division of Accor, known as the Accor Vacation Club, for US$48.4 million.
The company, which already operates more than 250 timeshare resorts around the world sees another 24 resorts join the portfolio, but perhaps most importantly is the addition of 30,000 Accor Vacation Club members.
The deal is expected to close before the end of March 2024, with the Accor Vacation Club business division reporting to Travel Leisure Co President and Managing Director of International Operations, Barry Robinson.
“We are excited about building on the legacy of Accor Vacation Club, which has been a recognised and respected presence in the region for more than 20 years,” Robinson said.
