More than 8,300 ballots were cast across the voting period.
The finalists for the National Travel Industry Awards (NTIA) popularly voted categories have been revealed by the Australian Travel Industry Association (ATIA) after a record 8,365 votes were cast across the 12 categories.
Three North American organisations – Brand USA, Destination Canada and Hawaii Tourism Oceania – will battle it out for Most Popular Tourism Office, along with Tourism Fiji and Tourism New Zealand | Manaakitanga Aotearoa.
Most Outstanding Wholesaler – Product/Service finalists include Cruiseco, DriveAway, Expedia TAAP, Room-Res and Viva Holidays, while three Africa specialists are in play for Most Outstanding Wholesaler – Destination / Experience, that being Adventure World, Bench Africa and The Africa Safari Co.
Also fighting in this category are ANZCRO and Sno’n’Ski Holidays.
Most Popular Airline – Online finalists include Air New Zealand, Qantas, Qatar Airways, Singapore Airlines and Virgin Australia, while Offline carriers up for recognition include Finnair, Gulf Air, Lufthansa Group and RwandAir.
Royal Caribbean, Norwegian Cruise Line and Princess Cruises will represent the big-ship brands to contest Most Popular Ocean Cruise Operator, alongside mid-size brands Viking and National Geographic-Lindblad Expeditions.
“Once again, we’ve seen a record turnout for the voting process, and I want to sincerely thank everyone who took the time to have their say,” said ATIA Chief Executive Officer, Dean Long.
