Second daily non-stop Melbourne-Abu Dhabi service from 01 August 2015.
Eithad Airways has just announced an expansion of its Australian capacity, with the debut of a second daily non-stop flight between Melbourne and Abu Dhabi from August next year.
The additional service will be operated by a three-class Boeing 777-300ER, adding over 4,500 weekly seats to the route “supporting strong two-way demand”.
The move will also provide more flexibility for Victorian travellers, offering more than double the number of weekly flight connections and linking Melbourne to over 50 cities on the Etihad global network.
Edinburgh, Geneva, Madrid, Zurich, Stuttgart, Vienna and Venice will be among destinations with improved connectivity, along with other key ports such as Athens and Brussels.
Etihad ceo James Hogan said EY would be “the only airline offering double daily non-stop flights between Melbourne and the UAE, and twice daily one stop services to a vast network of business and leisure destinations worldwide”.
