Acquisition of Quebec City-based Les Voyages Laurier du Vallon (LDV) bolsters Americas division.
Flight Centre has just announced the strengthening of its position in French-speaking Canada, via the acquisition of Les Voyages Laurier du Vallon (LDV), a business which generates about C$100 million in annual TTV and C$9.4 million in revenue.
LDV has a network of leisure, corporate and business events operations, with Flight Centre md Graham Turner saying the deal would fast-track the company’s growth in another key global location.
“Quebec is a large and attractive market for FLT, but our ability to expand and grow market share in this province has, until now, been constrained,” he said.
LDV was established in 1963 and is one of the biggest independent travel agencies in Quebec province. It has six locations in Quebec City and one in Montreal, with a staff of about 100 people.
Current LDV gm Nicolas Racine will continue to run the business and will become part of FLT’s senior leadership group in Canada, reporting to FLT Canada president John Beauvais.
