Recently reappointed TA chief decides to depart early for overseas gig.
Tourism Australia has announced that Managing Director Phillipa Harrison will depart the organisation in August to take up a role overseas.
The leader of Australia’s peak tourism body was appointed Managing Director in 2019, and was later reappointed for a further five-year term in 2024.
“Pip will be missed greatly, but she has created a legacy of strong industry engagement, a culture of global and national connection and creativity, and the determination to succeed despite the most difficult of times,” Tourism Australia Chair Penny Fowler said.
Harrison’s overseas opportunity is yet to be revealed, and a recruitment process at Tourism Australia will commence shortly.
