The Wellington-based business employs 30 personnel across New Zealand.
Helloworld Travel has agreed to acquire New Zealand-based Barlow Travel Group (BTG), an offshoot of Netherlands’ BCD Travel.
The acquisition will be funded from Helloworld’s existing cash reserves, and will see two of the business’ key stakeholders, Peter Barlow and Ross Jamieson, remain as Executive Directors, working alongside HLO New Zealand Executive General Manager Chris Hunter.
The acquisition, which is expected to be completed this month, comes after Helloworld and BTG agreed to a long-term partnership in 2018.
“[Barlow has] been one of the most iconic brands in corporate and event travel in New Zealand for many years and throughout that time has supported Helloworld New Zealand as part of our Associate network of agents,” HLO Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director Andrew Burnes said.
“Peter Barlow and Ross Jamieson are outstanding travel professionals with an extensive knowledge of corporate and event-based travel with an amazing group of customers across New Zealand.”
