Helloworld Travel Limited has just released a trading update, confirming EBITDA of $5.3 million in its continuing operations for the first quarter of the 2022/23 financial year.
Total Transaction Value was $561 million, up 352%, while revenue was up 174% to $29.3 million. The company reported significant growth in its retail businesses in Australia and New Zealand as travellers take advantage of the first northern hemisphere summer without border restrictions and increased domestic travel.
“Network numbers continue to hold fast as consumers seek out their travel professional to help craft and manage their travel demands,” the company said, with a total of 2,051 members across Australia and NZ as of 30 September, down 13 from the figure at the end of June.
The company reaffirmed its guidance to achieve an “underlying EBITDA” of $22-$26 million for the 2023 financial year, subject to no material adverse change in operating conditions and the continued recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.
