Intrepid Travel buys Dutch experiential travel company Sawadee Reizen from British company Travelopia, adding 20,000 customers a year.
The acquisition by the Australian tour operator will make the Netherlands its fourth-largest market, and signals Intrepid’s intention to further grow its style of touring in Europe.
“This is a landmark deal for Intrepid, adding 20,000 customers per year and $100 million in revenue,” CEO James Thornton said.
Sawadee will continue to be led by MD Berend Simons and will remain headquartered in Amsterdam.
