Jetstar expands Japanese connections.
Jetstar has just opened a new Darwin-Singapore-Osaka service for sale, with the existing Darwin-Singapore service to now continue onto Osaka three times per week from 01 November 2012.
The Darwin-Singapore leg will be operated by an A321, while the long-haul Singapore-Osaka sector will utilise a two-class Airbus A330.
Jetstar Group ceo Jayne Hrdlicka said the new service would capitalise on Jetstar’s growing presence in the Japanese market, following the launch of domestic operations eariler this month.
“We always look for opportunities across the Jetstar Group to join the dots in our existing network to improve what we can offer travellers,” she said.
“This new service means Darwin will be connected to Osaka as well as Tokyo, and by extension, to three other major Japanese cities via Jetstar Japan’s domestic network”.
Hrdlicka said Jetstar expects the new link to encourage more outbound tourism from Japan.
The lead-in everyday fare for the Darwin-Singapore-Osaka route is $359, with a limited launch offer from $259 one way.
