5700 passengers affected by Qantas walkout tomorrow.
Qantas has just updated its flight schedule for tomorrow, in the light of a two hour strike by Transport Workers Union members in the afternoon.
17 services will be cancelled, and a further 29 will be delayed by up to an hour, with the Australian Licenced Aircraft Engineers Association (ALAEA) also undertaking industrial action.
QF Group Executive Olivia Wirth said Australian-based Qantas management would again undertake operational roles such as baggage handling and catering to keep operations going.
“These unions are continuing to take industrial action which is intentionally causing disruptions to our passengers and hurting the Qantas brand,” she said.
The ALAEA has also notified the carrier that its members in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane will walk off the job for four hours next Mon 10 Oct, guaranteeing further travel misery for QF passengers.
