Daily direct services from Melbourne to Tokyo Narita to debut in December.
Qantas has just announced the launch of non-stop flights between Melbourne and Tokyo, with the route complementing its existing Sydney-Haneda and Brisbane-Narita services.
The move will see both Qantas and Jetstar flying from Melbourne to Narita over the upcoming holiday peak period, but Jetstar will then cease flights on the route after 25 February 2017.
QF’s new Melbourne services will utilise its upgraded two-class A330-300 aircraft, with Qantas International ceo Gareth Evans saying the operation builds on significant expansion of the Japanese market over the last year.
“We’re delighted to be stepping up our commitment to the Japanese market at a boom time for tourism and business travel…the Qantas Group is perfectly placed to support the resurgent growth we’re seeing,” Evans said.
