Direct link from Australia to the UK to debut in March 2018.
Qantas has this afternoon announced the launch route for its Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft, with non-stop flights from Perth to London to commence operations in March 2018.
The 14,498km service, taking approximately 17 hours, will be the first scheduled passenger flight linking Australia to Europe, and is being described by Qantas ceo Alan Joyce as a “game-changing route flown by a game-changing aircraft..a watershed for travel, tourism and trade”.
The new flight will operate through Qantas’ existing domestic terminals at PER (T3/4) which will be upgraded to accommodate international flights. QF’s existing Perth-Singapore and Perth-Auckland services will also move to this terminal.
Seats on the Perth-London flights will go on sale in April next year, with the aircraft carrying 236 passengers across Business, Premium Economy and Economy cabins.
