Qantas debuts new online retail offering.
Qantas Frequent Flyer ceo Lesley Grant has just launched a major new online shopping initiative which significantly expands the offering to the scheme’s ten million members.
A new website at qantaspoints.com provides a hub for the various components of the program – including a new Online Mall where members will be able to shop from a wide range of “premium global brands” such as Apple, David Jones, Macy’s, The Iconic, Pottery Barn, Nieman Marcus, Selfridges and Fortnum & Mason.
“What started as the Qantas Frequent Flyer program has grown significantly in the past few years,” Grant said, with the initiative aiming to “help members navigate what’s on offer so that they can get the most out of it.”
Online shoppers can earn up to five points per dollar spent, and the move also signals a significantly increased Australian presence for a number of international retail brands such as US department store chains Macy’s and Nieman Marcus as well as Booktopia, Bobbi Brown and West Elm.
Members will still use qantas.com for all of their flight bookings and to manage the flying aspects of their QFFF account, but the newly launched initiative reflects the growth of the program in recent years and the increasing volume of points earned through activities other than flying, Grant said.
She said that a major promotion will launch next week to encourage members to explore the new website and online shopping mall.
