Qantas to reinstate direct seasonal flights from Sydney to Sapporo’s New Chitose Airport, granting Aussies the only nonstop connection between the two cities.
The landmark seasonal flights will commence from 15 December 2025 and run through to 28 March 2026, operating three times a week using Airbus A330-200 aircraft and offering more than 20,000 extra seats across the northern ski season.
Australian travellers will save several hours on the nonstop service compared to existing one-stop options, heralding same-day travel to popular ski resorts such as Niseko, Furano, Rusutsu and Kiroro.
Return economy fares from Sydney to Sapporo will be available at qantas.com later this morning, and include checked baggage allowance, food and beverages and inflight entertainment.
The carrier last operated the route in 2020.
