The new rule comes into effect Wednesday GMT.
Travel Daily can confirm that Qantas will accept expired UK passports for dual citizens looking to enter the country, so long as they are issued from 1989 onwards.
The confirmation follows a quiet update from the UK Home Office this week allowing travellers with expired passports to enter the country at the discretion of airlines.
Other carriers like British Airways are yet to reveal their discretionary decisions on the issue.
