Fourth Australian Qatar Airways destination to debut on 2nd May 2016.
Qatar Airways has just announced the launch of daily non-stop flights between Doha and Adelaide from May next year. It will be QR’s first A350 route to Australia, and on top of the new Sydney-Doha flights will boost the airline’s Australian frequencies to 28 per week.
QR ceo Akbar Al Baker said the new route demonstrated the airline’s growing commitment to the Australian market.
“2016 is going to be yet another exciting year for Qatar Airways and we are very pleased that Australia will figure prominently in our expansion plans, with the launch of flights to Sydney from March 1 and Adelaide from May 2 to further strengthen our operations in the country,” he said.
The state-of-the-art A350 will be configured with 36 business class seats in a 1-2-1 arrangement with 80″ fully flat beds. 247 economy class seats will feature individual in-flight entertainment screens, and more space at shoulder level for window seat passengers thanks to a vertical side wall panel design.
Flight QR914 will depart Doha at 2055 daily, arriving in Adelaide at 1625 the following day. The return service QR915 will leave Adelaide at 2130 and arrive in Doha at 0450 the next morning, with onward connections to QR’s global network of destinations.
