The new deal unlocks easier access to dozens of destinations via the combined country and global networks of both airlines.
Australians in regional and rural areas can now more easily explore Europe, the Middle East and other parts of the world after Rex Airlines signed a new interline agreement with Etihad Airways.
The new deal allows travellers and agents to book single-ticket flight itineraries transiting through Sydney and Melbourne airports with country connections on Rex, with baggage automatically checked through to the final destination.
“Partnering with a world-class airline like Etihad brings a new era of choice and connection for Rex passengers,” said Rex General Manager of Network Strategy, Warrick Lodge.
